POWER FORWARD YOCHUM RE-SIGNS

Estero, Fla.— The Florida Jr. Blades organization and head coach Todd Pococke are pleased to welcome Brett Yochum back to the Jr. Blades line up for the 2014-15 season. Yochum returns to the blue and green for his second junior season after completing a successful 2013-14 campaign with the Jr. Blades.

A native of Palm City, Florida, Yochum is a large bodied forward known for his power along the boards and in front of the net.

“Yochum had a great year during 2013-14 and we have high hopes for him in the upcoming season,” said Pococke. “At 6-foot-3 Yochum has the size to make an impact. He also has surprisingly good hands for someone his size.”

Surprising to opponents, but not to the Jr. Blades staff who scouted Yochum before signing him in 2013.

“Assistant coach Tyler Carlston and I see a lot of players through out the year and at tournaments and there are very specific things we look for, particularly a players ability to continue developing in our system.”

For Yochum that development continues to pay off with increases in speed, agility, power and strength.

“On the Jr. Blades we train with Athletic Republic and it makes a difference,” said Yochum. “I don’t think there’s a better conditioned team in the league.”

Yochum will join the Jr. Blades for training camp before the team embarks on it’s 2014-15 campaign for a championship.

“We came so close last year and I’m ready to do it again.”
