Estero, Fla.—The Florida Jr. Blades and head coach Todd Pococke are pleased to welcome rookie goalie tandem Connor Fewster and Trevor Macey.
A Fort Myers, Fla. native, Fewster joins the Jr. Blades after competing with the Junior Everblades program out of Germain Arena.

“We have a unique opportunity with the JEB program to be able to really watch kids as they develop in the youth leagues,” said Pococke. “Over the last year we’ve watched Connor develop and are excited to help him elevate his game to the junior level and beyond.”

Known for his work ethic and ability to track pucks, Fewster will look to increase his athleticism and refine his technique while with the Jr. Blades.

“Fewster has innate abilities that will help him to be successful, puck tracking and hard work,” said Pococke. “I think our strength and conditioning program through Athletic Republic and dedicated goalie coach will see him make huge gains this season.”

Joining Fewster is Trevor Macey. Macey travels to Estero from Hartland, WI where he completed his high school career with Arrowhead High.

“Macey has great lateral movement and rebound control,” said Pococke. “We’ve seen him play several times and were impressed with his on-ice presence.”

While completing his high school career Macey was the recipient of several awards including two All-Conference honorable mentions, 2013 Admirals Cup Championship and the 2014 high school Hobey Baker award for character.

The tandem pair will join veteran Jake Carter on the Jr. Blades roster.

“We’re very excited about the possibilities we have at the goaltender position,” said Pococke. “Carter has put in two fantastic seasons with us and his game continues to be outstanding. He will be instrumental in leading the younger players and we’re excited by the talent and culture the team will have.”
