Estero, Fla.—The Florida Jr. Blades organization and head coach Todd Pococke are proud to announce the appointment of Eddie Kawczak as team captain for the 2014-15 season. Kawczak returns to the Jr. Blades for his second season after transitioning from defense to forward during the 2013-14 season.

Kawczak who is known for his positive demeanor has proven to be a strong leader in the Jr. Blades locker room. “Eddie Kawczak brings a high level of energy to the locker room,” said Pococke. “He is able to get his teammates motivated and energized while keeping the focus on the overall success of the team.” Team success is a focus of Kawczak who transitioned to forward midseason to bolster lines hampered by injuries. That versatility proved invaluable as the gritty centerman helped propel the team to the national tournament. “Kawczak is a great teammate who demonstrates hard work and what force of will can accomplish,” said Pococke. “We’ve very happy to welcome him back to the team and are pleased to give him the captainship for next season, he’s earned it.”
