Estero, Fla.—The Florida Jr. Blades and head coach Todd Pococke are proud to announce the signing of rookie defensemen Hunter Whitlock and Lars Voit. The rookie pair will bolster the Jr. Blades blue line.

A native of Tampa, Florida, Whitlock joins the Jr. Blades after completing the 2013-14 season with the Tampa Scorpions U18 AA club.

“Whitlock is a fast skater who is very agile on the ice,” said Pococke. “He’s exciting to watch, is tough to play against and has the grit to work it out along the walls.”

Voit joins the Jr. Blades from Wexford, Pennsylvania. Characterized with explosive speed and a fearless mentality, Voit is an exciting addition the Jr. Blades.

A 1998 born player, Voit is one of the youngest players on the Jr. Blades roster, but arguably one of the most exciting.

“Voit is a dynamic skater who is not afraid to play the body,” said Pococke. “He’s a young player who will continue to develop. Size is not an obstacle for him— he mentally just doesn’t allow it to be, making him one of the hardest players to go up against.”

The dynamic pair joins Daniil Chochua, James Compton and Colin Bailey in the defensive corp.
