Estero, Fla.—The Florida Jr. Blades and head coach Todd Pococke are proud to announce the signings of Chris Emma and Austin Resseguie. The out of state rookie forwards bring skill and smarts to the Jr. Blade line up.

A native of Greenville, South Carolina, Chris Emma is a big bodied forward who is known for his powerful stride and shot.

“Emma is powerful up front and in the corners,” said Pococke. “He has a great shot and has clear vision on the ice. We expect he’ll fit in very nicely with our style of play.”

The Jr. Blades are known for their fast, high scoring style. While often an offensive juggernaut the team is also defensibly sound.

“We fill out team with players who love to win,” said Pococke. “Each season we start with the desire to win… then we work at it. At the heart this means that we want to score goals and stop other teams from scoring them and the construction of the team is the foundation that is built on.”

Resseguie fits the plan.

A talented forward from Arvada, Colorado, Resseguie is characterized as a smart and patient player with high level skills.

“Resseguie is a smart player. He sees the play, can anticipate his opponents and his teammates and isn’t afraid to hold onto the puck when necessary,” said Pococke. “What separates him from others is his skill level. He can hold onto the puck and his high skill set means it isn’t going to get picked off his stick.”

The Jr. Blades open their season with a home-and-home series against the Tampa Bay Juniors on September 27-28. For more information visit www.floridajrblades.com
