Jr. Blades Take First Win Against Tampa Bay

Estero, Fla.— Jr. Blades hold on to earn their first win of the season, 5-3 against the Tampa Bay Juniors. The ‘Blades took an early lead and used scoring depth to edge out Tampa Bay.

Brett Yochum recorded his first goal of the season with assists to Adam Fowler and defenseman Hunter Whitlock. In the closing minute of the first period, Kamden Benedict gave the team a two goal lead (assists to Matus Spodniak and Anthony Eichhorn).

The Tampa Bay Juniors pulled within one with a goal from Benoit Chin. Jr. Blades Spodniak (assist to Whitlock) scored to make it 3-1 in favor of the Jr. Blades. Tampa continued to fight reaching with in one goal with a tally from Jonathan Grodzki.

The third period opened with the tying goal from Tampa Bay. Florida’s Josh Koeplingger quickly responded, scoring the game-winning goal (assists: Resseguie and Cuce). Team captain Eddie Kawczak scored the insurance goal with assist to Resseguie.

Goaltender Jake Carter made 37 saves in the Jr. Blades 5-3 win.
