The Florida Jr. Blades and the USPHL Empire division are proud to announce the selection of Josh Koepplinger, Matty Cuce, Colin Baily and Jake Carter to the All-Star roster.

A native of Saginaw, MI, Koepplinger joined the Jr. Blades after completing a three sport high school career. Since joining the Jr. Blades the 6-foot-1, forward has been an important play maker.

“Koepplinger has continued to develop his ability to read plays and set them up for his teammates,” said head coach Todd Pococke. “You can see it in his stats (26g, 30a, 56pts) that Josh is not only a goal scorer, but able to make the plays.”

Matching Koepplinger in points is fellow teammate Matty Cuce. Cuce travelled south from Vermont to join the Jr. Blades. Currently averaging over a goal per game (32/30), Cuce has added an offensive flair to the Jr. Blades.

“We’re traditionally an offensive team with responsible defense,” said Pococke. “Cuce not only matched our style, but exceeded all expectations. He has a passion and drive to score that rivals any competitor.”

On the defensive side, Colin Bailey has made an impression anchoring the Jr. Blades blue line. Bailey was selected as the USPHL-Empire defensive player of the week for December 24, 2014.

“This is Bailey’s second year with the Jr. Blades and he has really stepped up his game,” said Pococke. “In addition to greatly limiting opposing teams offensive production, he also provides special team support.”

In his third season with the Jr. Blades, Jake Carter continues to prove he has what it takes in net. The 6-foot-4 net minder from California continues to prove he is one of the best goaltenders in the division. Carter has been named the USPHL-Empire player of the week three times and has logged 1449 minutes so far this season.

“Carter is a big-bodied goaltender that manages to retain quickness,” said Pococke. “The team is secure with Carter in the net and every game he gives us the chance to win.”

The Jr. Blades will host the Syracuse Stars at Germain Arena. The team looks to continue their climb to the top of the southern division with 50 points in 30 games.
